Baviphat bb Magic girls plus bbcreams- Dry and Oily

Going to be reviewing the 2 different Baviphat bb Magic girls plus bbcreams
  1. Moisturizing for Dry Skin SPF 30
  2. Fresh for Oily Skin SPF 30
I am not good with pictures in regards to swatching.  I prefer to explain verbally on what is good and bad.  If I can take a picture and show you guys I would but I am not really good at that..lol
Left side is my new bottle of fresh for oily skin, right side is my deflated bottle of moisturizing- dry skin
left is for oily skin and right side is for dry skin
Well here goes nothing!

Baviphat bb Magic girls plus bbcream- Moisturizing for Dry Skin SPF 30
This is the initial bbcream I had purchased from this particular brand and I really liked it.  The coverage was very good and it felt moisturizing.  To me it was one of the better bbcreams I owned.  The only downside is that you will have to blot yourself as the day goes on as my t-zone tended to get a little oily after a period of wear.  Not a super big deal as this particular product was made for dry skin.  It works fine for me during the cold winter time.  I would definitely repurchase this product.  As summer is soon approaching I probably will use this less..which brings me to the other bbcream.

Baviphat bb Magic girls plus bbcream- Fresh for Oily Skin SPF 30
This is suppose to be the same product but made for people with oily skin.  I have used this for a week and it didnt break me out and it is not as moisturizing as the other one.  The thing I noticed immediately as I put it on my hand is that the texture is completely different than the other one made for dry skin.  This particular product is lighter and not as creamy.  It still spreads nicely and has okay coverage.  The coverage is not as good as the one made for dry skin but that is because the formula is slightly different. I would be using this bbcream in the summer time!  After a long day I didn't need to blot, it didn't make me feel oily at all compared to the dry skin one or my Laura Mercier.  Would I buy this one again?  I don't know yet. haha...I have to use it for a bit longer to tell if I love it.  I know that this bbcream isn't as expensive when bought from Gmarket and that it is a pretty good bbcream for the price!
Rating: 3.5/5
you can sort of see the different formula/texture the one for dry skin is thicker
the colour is slightly different too but blends out normally
it blends out normal and once "dried" it will look natural

If you guys buys this can you let me know how you feel about it?  Thanks in advance you guys who are reading this! ;)

BB creams and Foundations- reviews of what I own

I was attempting to swatch and take pictures of my face products and realized that I suck at swatching and my hand shakes too much to take photos.  Can I verbally explain the awesomeness and suckiness of products without swatching?  Hahah
My current collection
As I have noted before, my skin seems to recognize things that I have been using for a while thus I have to swap to alternative products and then swap back because things feel like they stop working!

I like to try new things so..I do!  I don't have sensitive skin so I can really try whatever.  I don't think anything broke me out..some of the stuff I use is good and some are meh.

I will be listing the foundations/bbcreams I have that I like or dislike in this post.

This review is based on my skin...so technically some stuff that works for me may not necessarily work for you.

I prefer not to use anything too heavy as I am still young, the things I use are really just to cover my scars and some blemishes that I may have.  I don't know what colour my skin is....I don't know the reference when people say they are a MAC Nsomething something...sorry...I don't use it so I don't know my number.

I have light asian skin..not super light!  My skin is a combination of oily/dry..depending on the weather/season.

As of right now I am using the 2 Baviphat bbcreams and the Laura Mercier silk creme foundation.  Those are the 3 that I swap around...switching it every 2 weeks...rotating until I use it up!

I do prefer bbcreams over tinted moisturizer as bbcreams are technically suppose to be moisturizer, sun screen, "foundation",  whitening and contain other medical healing products all rolled into one.  With bbcream you don't need to put anything on before applying it.  After a period of time you are "suppose" to see an improvement in your skin.  I have been using bbcreams for years....and I don't know if they work the way they are "suppose" to in regards to whitening and healing...but they are good for the summer or days I don't feel like applying foundation.  Technically foundation does nothing in regards to "healing" so really foundation feels like paint to me.  Foundation just covers...some don't have spf...so yeah....for daily use I do prefer bbcream.  The only time I use foundation is when I feel like I need that extra coverage.

The following products are what I use:
Bbcream
  • Baviphat BB Magic girls Plus Bb Cream- Dry Skin Formula- #02
  • Baviphat Office Lady Bb cream-#02 - Natural Beige
  • Missha Perfect Cover Bb cream- #23
  • Skin79 VIP Gold Collection: Super BB
Foundations
  • Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation- Bamboo Beige
  • Revlon Photoready- #004 Nude
  • Make Up Forever Face & Body Liquid Makeup- #20
  • bareMinerals Original- Light W15
Reviewing time!
Bbcream
Baviphat BB Magic girls Plus Bb Cream- Dry Skin Formula- #02

Texture: thick
Scented? Yes, lightly

This bbcream comes in 2 colours.  I always choose the darker shade because I know that the lighter shades are going to be extremely light.  I actually really like this bbcream.  I am planning to repurchase it when I run out...another excuse to shop on Gmarket! LOL.  It has good coverage for bbcream and it has spf30!  It stays on for a very long time...as in I don't touch up my makeup and it still is okay at the end of the day.  It might be a little oily at the end of the day, that's where blotting paper comes in!  The reason for that could be that I bought the one for dry skin, which means it is suppose to be more "moisturizing".  Perhaps the one for oily skin is different?  It is a regular squeeze bottle.

Rating: 5/5

Baviphat Office Lady Bb cream-#02 Natural Beige

Texture: light, like other mainstream bbcream
Scented? Yes, pretty strong smell.  I do think the smell wears off after 15 min.  smells good though. :)

This bbcream also comes in 2 colours and I think this bbcream is good.  I just started using it and I don't see any problems with it.  The coverage is not as good as the other Baviphat Magic girls plus bbcream but it's not sheer like tinted moisturizer.  It gives light/medium coverage, leaning towards medium side.  I would describe this as better than tinted moisturizer, coves more and supposedly "heals".  It has spf 45.  I might repurchase this again...still deciding as I have just used it for a week.  It does what it is suppose to, which is cover imperfections and it's not oily or heavy.  It uses a pump.

Rating: 4.5/5

Missha Perfect Cover Bb cream- #23- Natural Beige

Texture:  light, almost the same as the Baviphat Office Lady bbcream/ other mainstream bbcreams
Scented? Yes, not too strong
Again, 2 shades of colour to choose from.  Coverage for this one is not as good as the Baviphats.  It gives light/medium coverage leaning to the light side. It's alright..I haven't used it for a while because I feel I need something with better coverage for the last few months.  This one I have repurchased and I would say Missha Perfect Cover bbcream is a good starting bbcream.  I don't love it or dislike it...I could use it but I have discovered alternatives.  It has spf42.  It uses a pump.

Rating: 3.5/5

Skin79 VIP Gold Collection: Super BB

Texture: light, same as other mainstream bbcreams
Scented? Yes, lightly

I don't like it.  There was good reviews for this one...but I don't like it..Coverage is light/medium leaning towards light.  It has spf25.  The coverage was meh and I definitely know of better bbcreams than this one..Missha is better. Hey!  A lot of people do like this bbcream...you can actually buy a sample size of all the skin79 bbcreams as a package on yesasia.com if you really wanted to try it out without committing to a bottle. I personally will not buy it again.  It uses a pump.

Rating: 1/5
My attempted swatching
From left to right: Baviphat BB Magic girls Plus Bb Cream, Baviphat Office Lady Bb cream, Missha Perfect Cover Bb cream, Skin79 VIP Gold Collection: Super BB

This is what it looks like when I first put in on...but as you may know, bbcream will magically blend into your skin colour and it will look normal! Magical!

Foundations
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation- Bamboo Beige

Texture: thick, creamy and silky
Scented? Yes, pretty strong.
Awesome coverage and buildable!  I like it but it has no spf and is a squeeze bottle.  Very creamy and blends out nicely for a flawless finish.  Too bad it has not "healing" properties...so it is really just awesome paint..hahha.. I took this foundation to cancun and it didn't melt in the sun..it doesn't feel heavy or clogging either.  I like it a lot and I recently repurchased it as I ran out.  Freak..it costs $55.00CAD here and then there's the tax! It's $42.00USD in the states, buy it there.

Rating: 4.5/5

 Revlon Photoready- #004 Nude
Texture: Thinner than Laura Mercier
Scented? Yes, lightly

When I first used this I thought the coverage was pretty good but the bad part is that it's sparkly! There's small glitter dust in it....it supposedly is for photos so when you are taking a picture it wont give you that creepy white glow.  It has spf 20 and has a pump. It's inexpensive and can be purchased at any drug store.  Besides the glitter problem, this foundation is encased in a glass bottle.  If you drop it, it will shatter.

Rating: 3.5/5

Make Up Forever Face & Body Liquid Makeup- #20

Texture:  Thick..goopy?
Scented? Yes, not too strong

This is a foundation I bought because I read/watched reviews and they all stated that this product is waterproof...or perhaps water resistant.  It has extremely long wear and it works on the face and the body.  I heard sometimes people use it for wedding makeup.  It's okay, I don't love this or hate it.  I feel like because it is waterproof/resistant it probably will clog pores so it has not made it to my regular rotations.  It is also glass and uses a pump.
Rating: 3.5/5

bareMinerals Original- Light W15

Texture: It's powder
Scented? No?  If it is scented, I actually don't smell it at all.
I tried to use it as a foundation but I couldn't seem to love it.  I primarily use this as a concealer and do touch ups with it on top of what I am wearing that day.  I have repurchased this 2 times already..so yeah I think this is a good buy.

Gmarket again- Still Loving It!

Warning this post will be image heavy!

My Gmarket stuff came!  I am again very satisfied with what I bought!  Everything came within a week and a half...the delay was due to the fact that some of my items were not ín-stock...but no biggie.  I still consider this extremely fast shipping!

Everything was in mint condition and packed separately boxed within box...and beauty stuff was bubble wrapped..Gmarket shopping rocks!

Gmarket tape on the box
My box of goodies!  Feels like Christmas!

Picked up a wallet/phone case/wristlet combo thing for when I travel.  I don't like the fact that I carry a bag, my wallet, my coin purse and my phone separately when I travel..this wallet thing clumps them together. I believe this wallet was around $17.00CAD
Gmarket link to wallet: http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=190684078
Came with 3 free screen protectors?

The outside of it- Feeling girly so I chose baby pink
Oh so convenient!

I also bought a camera bag for my new E-PL2.  I originally chose a brown bag but they were out of stock...about 10 minutes after I placed my order, I received a long distance call.  I picked it up and it was a Korean guy asking me about my order...apparently they were out of the brown and he asked if I would like an alternative colour...I said black would be fine...and tada!
It was about $25.00CAD.
Here it is!
Gmarket Link to bag: http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=224693216

Looks like those other big camera bags but prettier...lol
the inside..roomy!
For clothing I picked up 3 tops and 3 bottoms.  I bought 2 tees and one cream coloured blouse.  All the tops are free size-one size fits all(most).

My leopard tee is soft and comfy..I guess you can wear it with a blazer and make it semi-formal.  It was about $8.00CAD

casual tee..I wanted something with leopard print but I don't want to go all out..
I love my grey tee that says 'I mustache you a question'.  When I first saw it...I thought it was some sort of weird tee that has English typo..cuz you know...there are lots of those out there...lost that make you go..huh?  This one...I thought it was like that too...until I read it aloud and noticed it was a cute play on words..."I must ask you a question"
lol..it was then a must buy!  Plus...when I wore it...it was sooooo soft!
Mustache tee was about $13.00 CAD

I mustache you a question!! LOL
This blouse is so cute!  I love the neck line of it...the lace is a good touch too..pretty!
It was about $15.00CAD

close up of the lace detailing
For bottoms, I bought a pair of distressed denim acid washed shorts, a beige long skirt and a baby pink/beige high waisted skort(skirt short).

I have not figured out how to wear my long skirt without wearing a blouse...hmmm...what else can I match it with?  It was about $12.00CAD.  My high waisted dress skort/shorts were about $17.00CAD and the denim shorts were about $12.00CAD

My long beige skirt

High waisted skort?
distressed acid wash denim shorts
brand of shorts: all seasons
pairing the long skirt with blouse
denim shorts with mustache tee

Wearing the tee more formally with black blazer

high waisted skort with blouse

casual tee and denim shorts
blouse and long skirt on!
I put on a denim jacket to see if it looks better...i dunno
I picked up a bbcream (Baviphat Office Lady version) as well as a cute lip gloss from Tony Moly. I will blog about it after I try it out...soon enough...I am running low on my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation so I will be trying the new bbcream.

I feel that bbcream, makeup or moisturizers stop working after a while....same with shampoo...I gotta switch it up and then go back to it...otherwise it just doesnt feel like its working anymore...is it just me? Hmmmm..

Make Up Junk

Bought a lot of make up stuff and haven't been able to try them all.

The moment I saw the Maybelline baby lips I knew I wanted it.  I went online and read the reviews and they said it wasn't good. I personally think it is okay.  A good base to put on before putting on other things, ie: lipstick.  It makes my lip feel soft.

 Review: 4/5

Same goes with EOS lip balms. The EOS hype was intriguing but the lip balm itself sucks but I still couldn't help to get all the colours...haha..Don't buy them because it isn't very moisturizing.  I bought them for the packaging.

Review: 1/5

Wanted to try the Baviphat SPF30 bbcream as it has such cute packaging!  I ordered it from www.yesstyle.com along with some other stuff.  I still have yet to try this bbcream.  I heard it was good and sort of water resistant.  I initially bought it for my trip to cancun but I ended up using my usual Laura Mercier silk creme foundation.  I will review this bbcream shortly as I am running out of my Laura Mercier. LOL

Edit: I just tried this bbcream...the consistency is thick.  Much thicker than missha or hanskin or skin79 gold version.
Coverage: 3/5 *similar to tinted moisturizer but a bit more coverage
Review: 3/5 * it is similar to other bbcreams I have tried..not so awesome..but not bad for everyday use.

Purchased these 2 different face masks from our local T&T in Vancouver after my cancun trip.  The Black Pearl Mask one is suppose to have whitening effects and the Strawberry Yogurt Mask one is suppose to brighten, reduce oil production and minimize pores.  I am not sure if they work BUT after using both products you will notice that your skin is softer and more moisturized.  I haven't been consistently using them.  I am not sure if it is a good buy for everyone as it might not necessarily do what it promises but the Strawberry Yogurt smells exactly like strawberry yogurt..mmmm  *drool*

I personally will not be buying them again in this large pack.  I might buy more of the Strawberry Yogurt Mask just because it smells so yummy!  I will just be using it once in a while when watching tv..

Review: 2.5/5

I will be blogging about my recent purchases next.  I bought some tops from Aritzia and some from AE.  I will also review my recent purchase on tretorn.com and forever21.ca when I receive them in the mail.
